55-56° North

We named and created the visual identity for ’55-56° North’, an amazing range of major cultural events appearing across the North East throughout 2022.

The ’55-56° North’ umbrella covers a diverse range of events ranging from ‘Hadrian’s Wall 1900 Festival’ which will see hundreds of events and activities taking place across Hadrian’s Wall; the arrival of the Lindisfarne Gospels at the Laing Art Gallery; an outdoor festival of projection, magic and storytelling with North of the Tyne’s ‘Under the Stars’ plus life size statues of children’s TV favourite Morph appearing all across the region. The opening ceremony for the Rugby World Cup will also see Newcastle playing as host venue.

Having devised a name, we designed a kite icon which points 55-56° North which acts as a graphic device to collate all the marketing materials, keeping the branding legible without interfering with the promotional imagery.

Juice Festival

We designed the promotional material for Juice Festival, a yearly event for children and young people. Such a diverse range of events called for a flexible design solution, which could hold all the disparate imagery together while still holding its own as a coherent piece of branding. It was designed in an easy to follow format for parents while making it lively and inviting for younger people to get excited by.

Inward Investment Films

We made a series of films for NewcastleGateshead Initiative to promote inward investment into Newcastle and Gateshead. The shoots involved interviews with council leaders, destination footage of Newcastle and Gateshead and motion graphics. The films were shown on the large screen at the Tyneside Cinema to potential investors.


Working with Solution Group was a genuine pleasure. Their enthusiasm for the brief, relentlessly helpful and obliging attitude and intuitive understanding of our design needs helped the project flow smoothly from start to finish.
